Adriana Funke

Adriana is the foreign rights assistant at JABberwocky. She grew up in southern Indiana and frequently poked fun at the Kentuckians across the river. But, as fate would have it, she moved to the South for college. In 2016, she graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s in English and a minor in anthropology. Six months later, Adriana moved to New York City to intern for Foundry Literary + Media, where she first became interested in foreign rights. In September 2017, she attended the Columbia Publishing Course in Oxford, England. She will answer to a variety of mispronunciations of her first and last names, but any reference to Rocky will get one nowhere.

Adriana generally reads literary fiction but likes any work that challenges either genre conventions or societal norms. Her favorite book is usually the last one she read (or is currently reading), but she has a special affinity for the books of her childhood (like Alice Hoffman’s Incantation) and the books that influenced her college years (such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah).
