REPRINT INFORMATION

In addition to an enduring book series, Hildegarde Withers has had an active life in Hollywood. RKO produced their first Hildegarde Withers film, THE PENGUIN POOL MURDER, in 1932, starring Edna May Oliver as Hildegarde. In the years that followed, RKO brought out five more Withers films (MURDER ON A BLACKBOARD, 1934; MURDER ON A HONEYMOON; 1935, MURDER ON A BRIDLE PATH, 1936; THE PLOT THICKENS, 1936; and FOUR NAUGHTY GIRLS, 1937). In 1972, Hildegarde returned to the screen, this time played by Eve Arden in a TV movie entitled A VERY MISSING PERSON.
