“This book is wonderfully weird, fantastically far-fetched, and a riveting read.”

Kings River Life

“When I first started Darkwalker, I wasn’t quite sure where this story was going. Nicolas Lenoir is a detective who seems to be just going through the motions though he’s supposedly one of the best, and driving his aide nuts in the meantime. They’re investigating the stolen corpses of children, and he’s not sure what the heck’s going on with that, not that he’s all that interested (hence the driving-his-aide-nuts).

He’s also a man running from his past, one who hangs out with an eclectic group in a salon run by a woman with secrets, one with a soft spot for a street urchin. How’s that for complicated?

“Dark magics by an unwanted people and kidnappings drive the plot; justice, an avenging spirit, and a man’s state of mind drives the story…Excellent!”

Drey’s Library

“A thoroughly enjoyable debut; I look forward to more from this author.”

Bakka Phoenix Books

“What Tettensor does best is create a strong and vivid atmosphere… [it] seems to float off the page and grasp your imagination along every chapter. It’s a beautifully realized tone with flowing descriptions that never try too hard and never get in the way of the story…Every scene is wonderfully realized and easy to see. All the dots line up perfectly.”

For MASTER OF PLAGUES

“E.L. Tettensor has crafted a series that has quickly moved to the top of my favorites list!…MASTER OF PLAGUES is another spectacular tale from the very talented E.L. Tettensor. Once again, E.L. Tettensor has crafted a masterful blend of the detective novel and the supernatural…I can’t rave about MASTER OF PLAGUES or the Nicholas Lenoir series enough.”

Fresh Fiction

“I really enjoyed how well done this sequel was… The reaction of the townspeople to this outbreak was heartbreakingly, all too real. The quarantines, the desperation, and the violence to a similarly virulent disease played out in our news with the Ebola virus.”

Night Owl Reviews

“Dark and gritty as the plague-ridden city, this dark fantasy detective novel is a combination of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, blended with a dash of disturbing supernatural.”

I Smell Sheep

“Tettensor’s Nicolas Lenoir series is an entertaining mix of fantasy and police procedural, liberally doused with dry humor and witty snarkisms…Excellent!”

Drey’s Library

“All told, MASTER OF PLAGUES is another deftly written novel, a worthy sequel that is every bit as good as its predecessor…Like Darkwalker, this book takes the reader on a delectable journey to get to bottom of a grand mystery, and there are plenty of plot twists and surprises along the way to keep you on your toes. Nicolas Lenoir is a character that has quickly grown on me, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll get up to next.”

The Bibliosanctum
