INFOMOCRACY is a Best Book of 2016

infomocracyMalka Older’s debut science-fiction novel INFOMOCRACY was listed as a best book of 2016 by Kirkus, Washington Post, and Barnes & Noble! Kirkus called it “timely and perhaps timeless” in its Best Fiction of 2016 list, and according to Barnes & Noble’s Best Science Fiction & Fantasy of 2016 list, “Older’s fierce imagination and eye for detail make her future world seem entirely plausible.” In its own Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of 2016 list, the Washington Post notes that INFOMOCRACY shows a “futuristic world with eerie parallels to current events.” It was also a “Best SF/F of 2016” on Flavorwire.

Unnerving in its poignancy in today’s political climate, INFOMOCRACY takes place twenty years and two election cycles since Information, a powerful search engine monopoly, pioneered the switch from warring nation-states to global micro-democracy. With power comes corruption. How do you keep the wheels running on the biggest political experiment of all time, when so many have so much to gain?

Brandon Sanderson’s ‘Cosmere’ universe to be adapted to the screen!

We’re excited to announce that DMG Entertainment has bought the film and licensing rights to Brandon Sanderson’s “Cosmere” way-of-kings-hi-resuniverse in one of the largest literary deals of the year! Though his books unfold in different worlds and time periods, the “Cosmere” universe links most of Sanderson’s writing through an intricate system of magic. “Sanderson’s library of present and future material provides one of the greatest story and character universes ever created,” said Dan Mintz, DMG founder.

The first movie in production is THE WAY OF KINGS, which is the first book in Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series. Screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (veterans of the “Saw” films) will adapt the book. Mintz will produce the film and Sanderson will serve as an executive producer. DMG is simultaneously adapting the first book in Sanderson’s Mistborn series, THE FINAL EMPIRE.

“The people at DMG aren’t just producers or financiers. They’re fans,” Sanderson said. “From the first moment we met, I knew they understood my vision and goals for the Cosmere, and I’ve been excited to work with them in bringing their vision for the universe to the screen.”
