Starting Strong in 2014

1/9/2014

As JABberwocky greets the New Year, many of our clients are still being met with end-of-2013 acclaim! Here is yet another summary of all of the wonderful things that people have been saying about our clients:

Tanya Huff‘s THE SILVERED garnered a Top 5 spot on Fantasy Book Cafe‘s “Best of” list and also received a rave review from Fantasy Book Review, calling it “one of the best books I have read in 2013.”

In addition to hitting the New York Times bestseller list twice this year (at #1 and #6 respectively), Brandon Sanderson‘s STEELHEART and THE RITHMATIST both nabbed top spots on SciFiChick’s “Best of 2013” list. STEELHEART was also The Founding Fields‘s seventh favorite novel from last year as well.

Joining Brandon near the top of The Founding Field’s “The Top 25 Books of 2013” is THE DAYLIGHT WAR by Peter V. Brett, the third book in his international-bestselling Demon Cycle series. The anticipation surrounding last year’s release was huge and Brett did not disappoint his fans, including those at Fantasy Book Critic who named THE  DAYLIGHT WAR their #2 novel of 2013!

Another book that garnered tons of attention in 2013 was CODEX BORN by Jim Hines, and we are happy to see that it was still on the minds of reviewers this December. Lytherus was particularly smitten, naming it one of “The Best Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy Novels of 2013.

Elizabeth Moon, one of Joshua’s very first clients, continues to leave her mark in the hearts and minds of fantasy readers. In 2013 she released LIMITS OF POWER, a continuing novel in her classic Deed of Paksenarrion series, which also nabbed a spot on Lytherus‘s best of the year list. Not content with having just a single novel recognized, Moon also had two of her older Vatta’s War novels (TRADING IN DANGER and  MARQUE AND REPRISAL) praised by The Book Smugglers in their top ten “Most Excellent Oldies.”

All in all, 2013 was a great year for JABberwocky thanks to our amazing clients and it is always nice to hear that there are legions of readers who agree with us!
