We are excited (although not surprised!) to see both Brandon Sanderson’s THE WAY OF KINGS and Elizabeth Moon’s THE SPEED OF DARK on Amazon’s 100 Science Fiction & Fantasy Books to Read in a Lifetime list.

THE WAY OF KINGS is the first book in Sanderson‘s Stormlight Archive series,  one of the defining epic fantasy sagas of this decade. This book, which Booklist called “a classic story of intrigue, magic, and war,” debuted at #7 on the New York Times bestseller list, and won both the 2010 Whitney Award for Best Novel, and the 2010 David Gemmell Legend Award for Best Fantasy Novel.

Elizabeth Moon‘s compelling and poignant standalone, THE SPEED OF DARK, received multiple starred reviews, including one from Kirkus, which called it “a touching account. Well-written, intelligent, quite moving.”  Moon’s novel was the winner of the 2003 Nebula Award for Best Novel, and a finalist for the Arthur C. Clarke Prize for Best Novel.
