Master of Plagues (#2)

Previous: Darkwalker (#1)

Sometimes catching a killer isn’t enough…

Inspector Nicolas Lenoir is a changed man. Though he’s still arrogant and irritable, Lenoir is ready to reclaim his reputation as the Metropolitan Police’s premier detective. In Kennian, though, things are never quite so easy. A deadly disease is spreading like wildfire through the city, and the plague is no accident – it was intentionally unleashed.

Kennian’s physicians are helpless. Only the mysterious Adali witchdoctors seem to have a cure – but dark magic comes at a price, and Lenoir knows only too well just how costly it can be.

The only thing spreading faster than the plague is fear. With the body count rising and the city descending into chaos, Lenoir and his partner, Sergeant Bran Kody, are racing against time to stop an invisible enemy. Even if it means risking their own lives, Lenoir and Kody must find a way to stop the insidious epidemic and save the city…while there is still a city left to be saved.

Reviews

“E.L. Tettensor has crafted a series that has quickly moved to the top of my favorites list! […] MASTER OF PLAGUES is another spectacular tale from the very talented E.L. Tettensor. Once again, E.L. Tettensor has crafted a masterful blend of the detective novel and the supernatural […] I can’t rave about MASTER OF PLAGUES or the Nicholas Lenoir series enough.”

Fresh Fiction

“I really enjoyed how well done this sequel was […] The reaction of the townspeople to this outbreak was heartbreakingly, all too real. The quarantines, the desperation, and the violence to a similarly virulent disease played out in our news with the Ebola virus.”

Night Owl Reviews

“Dark and gritty as the plague-ridden city, this dark fantasy detective novel is a combination of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, blended with a dash of disturbing supernatural.”

I Smell Sheep

“Tettensor’s Nicolas Lenoir series is an entertaining mix of fantasy and police procedural, liberally doused with dry humor and witty snarkisms […] Excellent!”

Drey’s Library

“All told, MASTER OF PLAGUES is another deftly written novel, a worthy sequel that is every bit as good as its predecessor […] Like DARKWALKER, this book takes the reader on a delectable journey to get to bottom of a grand mystery, and there are plenty of plot twists and surprises along the way to keep you on your toes. Nicolas Lenoir is a character that has quickly grown on me, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll get up to next.”

The Bibliosanctum

“If you’re not reading E.L Tettensor’s Nicholas Lenoir novels you’re really, really missing out […] MASTER OF PLAGUES is a wonderful progression from Tettensor’s first Lenoir novel […] a well written story, perfectly suited to its characters and its world and offering deep and satisfying insights into the people that populate it. What are you waiting for? Go read it now!”
