Congratulations to Daniel Jose Older, whose debut YA has already received considerable attention since its release in 2015, and now SHADOWSHAPER has been named the #ReadBrave book in the Saint Paul Public Library for the year of 2017! The Saint Paul library also has a monthly teen book club, called the Teens Reading Bravely Book Club. The Read Brave program chooses one YA book annually for the community of Saint Paul to read together, both adults and teens alike. The library distributes hundreds of copies of their pick to allow all participants to own a copy. Previous years’ selections include Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. SHADOWSHAPER was also a #5 New York Times bestseller and was named to several “Best Books of 2015” lists, including by the New York Times, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and School Library Journal.
