Kadeem Alphanso Fyffe

Kadeem Alphanso Fyffe is a Jamaican-American fashion designer, author, and LGBTQ+ advocate. He is the creative director of his namesake label specializing in custom womenswear, KADEEM ALPHANSO FYFFE | NEW YORK. He brings over a decade of international experience designing for top global brands including Michael Kors, Burberry, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, and SHEIN.

A proud, distinguished graduate of the University of Richmond (BA in Studio Art and Women’s Studies), Fyffe furthered his fashion education at Parsons School of Design and Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan. His original collections have been featured at New York Fashion Week, and in 2024, he unveiled a couture capsule at the Kennedy Center honoring the sartorial legacy of Black women.

Fyffe has been featured by TIME, People, The Today Show, Voice of America, Cosmopolitan, and was the August 2024 cover star of Empeccable Magazine and the February 2025 cover star of URBAN Magazine. His accolades include the 2013 Outstanding Arts Award and 2023 Distinguished Recent Graduate Award from the University of Richmond. He was named to Out Magazine’s 2020 Out 100 List, alongside fashion legend André Leon Talley, and has been involved with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ Teen Stylin’ Fashion Show since serving as a juror in 2022. He also mentors the next generation of fashion designers through youth programming at the VMFA, Prep for Prep, the NYC Department of Education, and Sotheby’s.

Born in Queens, NY, and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Kadeem now resides in New York City. His creative work is rooted in uplifting Black, queer, and first-generation narratives through design, storytelling, and advocacy.
