Let the countdown to takeoff begin — BADASSTRONAUTS by Grady Hendrix is being developed into a movie!
Deadline announced the exciting news in an exclusive, revealing that Paramount Pictures is developing the project with Grady to exec produce as well as Todd Garner and Adam Goldworm to produce. This makes BADASSTRONAUTS the seventh Grady Hendrix book to be actively getting the Hollywood treatment, which is pretty out of this world!
BADASSTRONAUTS follows Walter Reddie, a washed-up astrophysicist who refuses to let his cousin die on the abandoned International Space Station after a NASA mission gone wrong. Fueled by vodka and righteous anger, Walter begins to build his own rocket ship on his farm. But in doing so, he inadvertently becomes a beacon of hope for misfits, drifters, rocket junkies, pyromaniacs, dreamers, science nerds, and astro-hippies who believe that space shouldn’t just be for billionaires. But is hope enough to get the rocket into orbit and bring his cousin home?
Grady Hendrix‘s books have sold more than 2.4 million copies worldwide and have been translated into over 20 languages to date. BADASSTRONAUTS is also published by our JAB Books program, making this news extra special for our team.
Congratulations, Grady!
