They say three’s a crowd, but we say the more the merrier in this case: we’re so excited that Brandon Sanderson‘s ISLES OF THE EMBERDARK is a triple national bestseller!

ISLES OF THE EMBERDARK has landed at #5 on the New York Times bestseller list, #29 on the USA Today bestseller list, and #6 on the national indie bestseller list since its publication with Tor last week. It was also selected as an Amazon Editors’ Selection for Best Science Fiction & Fantasy in February 2026!

The latest of the Cosmere standalones, ISLES OF THE EMBERDARK is an expansion of a novella, Sixth of the Dusk, and follows an eponymous protagonist navigating the seas and stars of a far-future universe. In a recent review, Fantasy Hive deemed the book “[A] phenomenal journey of industrial and technological transformation yet still holds an abundance of myth and magic…The Isles of the Emberdark had the perfect blend of fantasy and sci-fi, with a found family I adored, magic and myth that captivated me and some incredible quests. This is definitely my new favourite Sanderson standalone.”

This exciting news follows a major announcement earlier this month where it was revealed that Apple TV has optioned the film & TV rights for two of the most popular Cosmere properties: the Mistborn series and The Stormlight Archive. Brandon also reached a major milestone back in December when he officially surpassed 50 million sales across all of his books, a success that paves the way for many more to come. It seems the Cosmere truly has no bounds!

Congratulations Brandon!
