The Escher Man
“Napper concocts a visceral toxic future set in an unforgiving world of rain, grime, and gangland turmoil. The stakes are high and the tech is fascinating. Cyberpunk fans are sure to get a kick out of this polished and exciting adventure.”
"Napper is fast becoming my favourite writer of modern Cyberpunk. The author takes the feel of the classic bleak technofuture, rain and all, but also layers in great science fiction concepts[...]mostly about how memory works and what role it plays in making us the people we are. Is memory the soul of a person? What would you sell your soul for?"
"THE ESCHER MAN is an exciting approach to storytelling[...]In THE ESCHER MAN you aren’t just in a non-descript, American-style city with Kanji lettering on the signs–you are in the cultural melting pot of future Asia in every way."
“An incisive and self-assured voice in near-future fiction. One of those writers with an effortless grasp of the highs and lows of human nature. Always a joy to read.”Adrian Tchaikovsky, Hugo Award-winning author of Children of Time
“A couple of years ago, I said I couldn’t wait to see where T. R. Napper’s science fiction would take me next. Turns out, it was worth the wait.”Richard Morgan, Philip K. Dick Award-winning author of Altered Carbon
“Brace yourself, this is the future, but not as you remember it[…]it’s more badass.”Pat Cadigan, author of Synners and Fools
THE ESCHER MAN gripped me from the very first scene and never let go. This is the new face of cyberpunk.”Yudhanjaya Wijeratne, author of The Salvage Crew
"THE ESCHER MAN is another stone-cold modern cyberpunk classic, an explosion of pulp violence that asks probing questions about our increasingly intimate relationship with technology."Jonathan Thornton, The Fantasy Hive
“Thrilling, violent, brilliant and prophetic[…]It’s John Wick in a world written by William Gibson, but plotted and storyboarded by Philip K Dick."Benjamin's Bookclub
“[…]brilliant and compelling[…]Cyberpunk at its best[...]Napper is a master (perhaps THE master) of the genre."Douglas Lumsden, author of A Troll Walks Into a Bar
“T. R. Napper shows true genius in his storytelling, with a compelling plotline, noirish setting, and characters of true depth.”Kaaron Warren, Shirley Jackson Award-winning author of Slights
"Napper’s style is compact and complex[...]Ideas that are purified and distilled in such a way that I still find myself comparing his writing to a good whisky."Sarah K. Balstrup, author of The Way of Unity
Ghost of the Neon God
“[GHOST OF THE NEON GOD] gloriously upholds the c-p legacy. It’s not an exercise in 80’s nostalgia, nor a cut-and-paste assemblage of cyber-tropes, but rather a fresh re-envisioning of what the first generation of writers saw and tried to forecast and report.”Locus Magazine
"T. R. Napper, you changed my life."Maggi Dominik, SFF Insiders
“Constructed with the nuance, wit, and sniper-precise observation to make you believe and fear his hard-boiled vision of the future.”Luke Arnold, author of The Last Smile in Sunder City
“Johnny Mnemonic in the Australian Outback with some Ghost in the Shell ruminations on the future of artificial intelligence. A cracking good read; T. R. Napper is one of the best SF writers working today.”Richard Swan, author of The Justice of Kings
“Relentless energy, breakneck pace, wired with countless ideas and inventions, all of them utterly convincing and harmonised into the siren song of a terrifying future. Plug this novel into the grid: it could power an entire city.Jock Serong, author of The Rules of Backyard Cricket
“Raw, classic cyberpunk. It’s both frighteningly familiar and a fresh take on the world we are heading towards. Napper always nails grounded characters dealing with big questions. It’ll grab you from the first line and will not let go.”Timothy Hickson, author of On Writing and World Building, I-III
“Eminently quotable, not a paragraph went by without a brief marvel at a gem cutter’s perfect turn of phrase or description… Napper can’t seem to write a bad sentence, and that’s good for his readers.”Daniel R. Rocichaud, Considering Stories
“Harsh and beautiful as rain on neon”Anna Smith Spark, author of The Court of Broken Knives
36 Streets
“A gripping near-future cyberthriller[…]Napper drives the brisk plot forward with plenty of action and intrigue. Cyberpunk fans will find much to enjoy in the noir tone, unique setting, and high stakes.”
“Intricately plotted, using advanced biotechnology, a close investigation into Vietnamese history and culture, and a hard-edged, complicated lead character, Napper’s fine first novel will draw in cyberpunk readers.”Booklist
“[36 STREETS] has things both novel and serious to say about the psychological effects of intrusive media. This is a kick-the-door-down account of how past traumas — personal and national — may one day be weaponised for social control.”The Sunday Times
“T. R. Napper has produced an exquisite cyberpunk thriller that takes a damaged protagonist on a powerful, personal journey. This outstanding and wildly addictive story expertly combines distinctive cyberpunk elements with vibrant Vietnamese culture to create an exceptional read.”Canberra Weekly
"36 Streets is refreshing, and brilliantly realised SF noirGrimdark Magazine
“Napper has created an instant classic of the cyberpunk genre, and shown just how vital and incisive the genre can be.”Jonathan Thornton, Fantasy Hive
“Quintessential cyberpunk, hard-nosed, sharp edged and gleaming.”Adrian Tchaikovsky, Hugo Award-winning author of Children of Time

“36 STREETS is a cyberpunk tour de force – richly textured, nuanced, and shot-through with emotional depth.”Richard Swan, author of The Justice of Kings
“High-octane, immersive SF at its best. 36 STREETS is sure to become a classic in the field.”Kaaron Warren, Shirley Jackson Award-winning author of Slights
"The writing is astonishing, seamlessly incorporating inspirations from as far afield as Graham Greene and Coppola, yet never being anything other than original and fresh. This is an important book, particularly at a time when our heavily mediated reality is becoming increasingly frangible."Gavin Smith, author of The Bastard Legion
“Beautiful, shimmering, ghostly science fiction.”Anna Smith Spark, author of The Court of Broken Knives

Neon Leviathan
“Each one of the stories in this volume is a carefully-crafted masterpiece that, whilst it presents a narrative of its own, is nonetheless a window into a larger world, a current of history that flows a winding path from one to another, carrying us with it.”Adrian Tchaikovsky, Hugo Award-winning author of Children of Time
“Napper has done his inspiration proud, that being author Philip K. Dick, another master of the dystopian vision—at least in terms of his ability to present the darker side of human existence. Like Dick, Napper prefers to explore those things that we consider to be fundamental to our sense of self, both on the metaphysical and physical levels, just as much as he does the nature of reality and the supernatural.”
"Haunting and iridescent – combines the paranoid weirdness of the best Philip K Dick...and an achingly beautiful literary inflection reminiscent of mainstream heavyweights like Murakami or Ishiguro. T. R. Napper’s futures feel at once gritty and vertiginous and close-focus human in the way only the best SF can manage. Whatever roadmap he’s working from, I can’t wait to see where he’s taking us next.”Richard Morgan, Philip K. Dick Award-winning author of Altered Carbon
“An innovation… Right off the bat and throughout Neon Leviathan, Napper well articulates the cyberpunk subgenre motifs and themes while making his mark.”
