The Internet Agrees: Myke Cole is the Best for 2013!

It has been quite the year for Myke Cole! Earlier this year, he won the Compton Crook Award, and now that the year is ending, he has received even more recognition.

His latest book and the second title in his Shadow Ops Trilogy, FORTRESS FRONTIER is #11 on Fantasy Faction‘s Best Fantasy Books of 2013, #4 on SFF World’s “Top Horror and Fantasy Books of 2013,” #2 on Over the Effing Rainbow‘s Best of 2013 list, #10 on 52 Book Review‘s “Best of 2013 “list, and is listed on The Favorites of 2013 by Stuff and/or Junk. Throughout the past year, FORTRESS FRONTIER has been named a “Best SF/F Book of January” 2013 by Amazon.com, one of the Top 10 Anticipated Fantasy Books for 2013 by Fantasy Faction, a Fantasy & Sci-Fi Novels to Look Forward to in 2013 by The Ranting Dragon, one of the Top 10 Must-Read Titles of 2013 by My Bookish Ways, and one of the “Year’s Best of 2013″ by Fantastical Imaginations.

As we get closer to 2014, the release of BREACH ZONE is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated of the coming year! Buzzfeed has listed it as one of the 12 Science Fiction And Fantasy Books To Look Forward To For January 2014. It also made Best Fantasy Book‘s Most Anticipated Books of 2014.

Also on this list are two upcoming Brandon Sanderson books, WORDS OF RADIANCE and FIREFIGHT! Brandon’s STEELHEART has been on the New York Times YA Bestsellers list for 12 weeks and was also listed on Fantasy Faction‘s Best Fantasy Books of 2013, which also included Marie Brennan‘s A NATURAL HISTORY OF DRAGONS and THE DAYLIGHT WAR by Peter V. Brett. THE DAYLIGHT WAR was also included in FanLit‘s Favorite Books of 2013 along with THE RITHMATIST by Brandon Sanderson. DAYLIGHT WAR and FORTRESS FRONTIER were also chosen by author Mark Lawrence for Fantastical Imagination‘s Author’s Choice of 2013 list!

This should be our last update on our clients in 2013, so have a happy New Year and we will be back in 2014 with the latest news about all of our amazing clients!

UPDATE (1/9/14): And the praise continues to roll in for Myke Cole and FORTRESS FRONTIER! SFFWorld recently posted their end of year list and named Cole’s second Shadow Ops novel their fourth favorite fantasy novel 0f 2013, putting him ahead of some other fellow named Stephen King. The Founding Fields also loved FORTRESS FRONTIER and listed it as the #10 on their “Top 25 Books of 2013” list. While Fantasy Book Critic thought that Myke Cole deserved the #3 spot on their Top Ten Novels of 2013, going so far as to say that FORTRESS FRONTIER “managed to blast open the urban fantasy subgenre in the same way Tolkien did to epic fantasy decades ago.”
