RESULTS UPDATE: The 2020 Goodreads Choice Award winners have been announced, and we are thrilled to say that Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s MEXICAN GOTHIC won for Best Horror!

She received a whopping 85,000+ votes, marking it as a landslide victory. Silvia also ranked with the third-highest number of votes across all categories, and even beat out Barack Obama.

We’re also very proud of Grady Hendrix placing 3rd in the Best Horror category! THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB’S GUIDE TO SLAYING VAMPIRES received over 41,000 votes in the final round. In addition to being “Best Of” list buddies, our horror writers made a Stephen King sandwich in the polls (a very strange one somehow involving mushrooms and peaches).

Over with the Best Fantasy and Best YA Fantasy books, Brandon Sanderson also received much reader love. RHYTHM OF WAR (Stormlight Archive #4) placed 4th for Best Fantasy with over 34,000 votes, which we think is amazing considering it only just published! In the YA section, STARSIGHT (Skyward #2) was 7th in the ranks, with over 27,000 votes.

Regardless of numbers or rankings, we are immensely proud of all of our authors — huge congratulations to Silvia, Grady, and Brandon! And thank you to everyone who voted for our authors in the 2020 Goodreads Choice Awards!
