Allison McClain Merrill is an entertainment journalist with a passion for pop culture and television history. In 2021, she became a features editor at Static Media for Nicki Swift. Allison also works on her own projects as a writer and Disney Channel historian.

Allison grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and she earned her bachelor’s degrees (music education & English) at Jacksonville University. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School and Yale Institute of Sacred Music in 2019.

Southeast Michigan is currently home for Allison and her husband, Jackson, a renowned organist and choirmaster. Allison enjoys working with Jackson on musical performances, and when she’s not singing, writing, or editing, Allison teaches exercise classes virtually.
