Allison McClain Merrill
Allison McClain Merrill is a journalist based in the Detroit metropolitan area. She writes about pop culture history and has bylines in The Daily Beast, SFGATE, Paste Magazine, TODAY, Vanity Fair, and other outlets. She earned two bachelor’s degrees from Jacksonville University and a master’s degree from Yale. Allison is a member of the Disney, Culture & Society Research Network and is on the editorial board of the upcoming International Journal of Disney Studies.
She has interviewed numerous Disney Channel stars, including Raven-Symoné, Raviv Ullman, Sabrina Bryan, Will Friedle, Corbin Bleu, Jason Dolley, Alyson Stoner, Tania Gunadi, and Monique Coleman. Along with writing, reporting, and traveling, Allison is passionate about music and sings in a professional choir.
