The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the leading cast for the film adaption of Grady Hendrix‘s thrilling horror novel, MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM!

Elsie Miller, who turned heads in Eighth Grade, will be starring as Abby while Amiah Miller, from War for the Planet of the Apes and The Water Man, will be playing Gretchen (aka the best friend in question). Joining the ensemble cast are Cathy Ang and Rachel Ogechi.

The adaption is now filming and is being directed by Damon Thomas, who is well-known for his work on Killing Eve and Penny Dreadful!

MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM takes place in 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?
