Exciting News From San Diego Comic-Con

7/22/2022

San Diego Comic Con 2022 just started and JABberwocky has already seen some exciting news come out of it!

We’re pleased to share that The Wheel of Time is getting a third season on Prime Video! Long-time JAB client Brandon Sanderson not only took over the book series after Robert Jordan passed away in 2007, but he and Harriet McDougal, Robert Jordan’s widow, serve as consulting producers on the show. This news comes ahead of the Season 2 premiere, which is anticipated to release in late 2022 or early 2023. Season 1 is currently available to stream on Prime Video!

In other news, it seems Buffy now faces the age-old question: vampires or werewolves? We’re so excited to share that renowned actor and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, has joined the cast of the Wolf Pack TV show! The show, based on JAB author Edo van Belkom‘s series of the same name, is expected to premiere in Fall 2022 on the Paramount+ streaming service. The books will be returning to retailers in all formats before the end of the year.

Wolf Pack follows teenagers Everett and Blake, whose lives are forever changed when they are attacked by a terrifying supernatural creature during a California wildfire. In the aftermath of the attack, Everett and Blake become drawn to each other and to teenagers Luna and Harlan, who were adopted sixteen years earlier by a park ranger after a previous mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them: the bite and blood of a werewolf.

Armani Jackson (Chad) and Bella Shepard (The Wilds) star as Everett and Blake, while newcomers Chloe Rose Robertson and Tyler Lawrence Gray will play Luna and Harlan. According to Deadline, Gellar joins the cast as arson investigator Kristin Ramsey. While we don’t know too much about this character yet, we know Sarah Michelle Gellar will slay it! (Okay okay, we’ll see ourselves out…)

We can’t wait for Wheel of Time Season 3 and Wolf Pack to hit the silver screen — congratulations Brandon and Edo!
