RT Reviews has called Joanna Campbell Slan “one of mystery’s rising stars,” and it’s easy to see why. She’s the award-winning and national bestselling author of three mystery series. Her first series, the Kiki Lowenstein Mystery series, was an Agatha Award Finalist, and features ace scrapbooker Kiki Lowenstein. Previous to writing fiction, Joanna penned seven scrapbooking technique books and wrote for Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, and PaperKuts. She has taught scrapbooking online, on cruises, and in Europe, as well as here in the US.
Her historical mystery series–The Jane Eyre Chronicles–starts where Charlotte Bronte’s classic left off. Reviewers have said, “For readers who love Jane Eyre, she lives on in Joanna Campbell Slan.” Joanna also is under contract for two other mystery series yet to be released. In her past life, Joanna was a television talk show host, an adjunct professor of public relations, a sought-after motivational speaker, and a corporate speechwriter. She is the mother of Michael Slan, a professional poker player, and she is married to David Slan, CEO of Steinway Piano Gallery-DC. The Slans and their dog, Jax, make their home on Jupiter Island, Florida.

The Jane Eyre Chronicles
Death of a Schoolgirl (#1)
"In a radical departure from her scrapbooking series, Slan refashions a beloved heroine as a surprisingly canny detective. Her stylistic imitation of Charlotte Brontë is seasoned with a dash of social commentary and plenty of suspects to mull over."
"Fans of historical cozies will best appreciate Slan’s first in a new series featuring Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre."
"This is a wonderful novel for young adults who are interested in the classics of Great Britain in the 1800s. For readers who love Jane Eyre, she lives on through Joanna Campbell Slan."VOYA
"This is a beautifully written story that fully reflects the mores and social conventions of England in the early nineteenth century. Joanna Campbell Slan has marked Death of a Schoolgirl with her own indelible brand of suspense and intrigue while adhering to the cadence and restrained emotional atmosphere of the original Bronte novel. Anyone who has ever read and loved Jane Eyre will be captivated by Death of a Schoolgirl."
"Reading this novel is like visiting an old friend. Slan stays true to Jane Eyre’s character, and the storyline is a seamless progression of the original novel. Brontë fans and historical mystery fans alike will find much to enjoy in Death of a Schoolgirl."
Death of a Dowager (#2)
"Second in the Jane Eyre Chronicles, the novel nicely continues the adventures of Brontë’s intrepid heroine.... Death of a Dowager is a breezy, cozy mystery, and Ms. Brontë would no doubt have approved of Slan’s depiction of Jane."
"I highly encourage lovers of historical mysteries to pick up this series immediately. It will not disappoint. I enjoyed the first one immensely and this one was just as good, if not better than the first."
"As a fan of the classics and historical mysteries, I enjoy the idea of Jane Eyre as a sleuth. The characters and world depicted in Slan’s novels stay true to Brontë’s story, and it’s nice to see the love story between Jane and Rochester continue."
The Cara Mia Delgatto Mysteries
Tear Down and Die (#1)
"This is a charming mystery set in a cozy town off the Treasure Coast of Florida. The story of Cara Mia and her adventure is an incredibly fast and enjoyable read. The background stories and relationships are really where Slan shines. The novel features an incredibly strong cast of side characters who come together to help Cara Mia turn her troubles into triumphs."IndieReader
