We’re thrilled to see that Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s Mexican Gothic has been included in TIME Magazine’s 100 Best Mysteries & Thrillers of All Time!
Since its release in summer 2020, Mexican Gothic has consistently remained a bestseller, hitting #9 on the New York Times Bestseller List for fiction and #5 on the Washington Post bestseller list while also running for 31 weeks on the LA Time Bestseller List. It has won the 2020 Locus Award and 2021 British Fantasy Award, and been a finalist for many prestigious awards such as the Bram Stoker Awards, the Nebula Awards, and the World Fantasy Awards. In North America alone, the book has sold over 650,000 copies across all formats.
This particular accolade is the latest in a long list of rave reviews and praise Mexican Gothic has earned. In their initial review of the novel, TIME described how “Mexican Gothic masterfully combines elements of history, fantasy, and horror for a mystery that explores the sinister legacy of colonialism and imperialism in Latin America.”
Congratulations on this achievement, Silvia!
