2020 has been terrible for many reasons, but we’re thankful to be ending the year on a high note. Publisher’s Lunch just dropped their Final, Very Best of the Best Books of 2020 this morning, and Silvia Moreno-Garcia‘s MEXICAN GOTHIC made it on the list!

MEXICAN GOTHIC is tied at 10th place among the excellent company of N.K. Jemisin, Susanna Clark, and Charles Yu. The list was created after combing through several “best of 2020” book lists from major publications, retailer and library selections, major award nominees, public votes, new “tastemakers” and more. We’re absolutely thrilled that Silvia’s latest has earned so much well-deserved praise and accolades (full list here, by the way).

But another reason we’re excited about this Pub Lunch list is the recognition of the publishing team involved with the book. In this case, the dynamic team is JABberwocky’s own agent/VP, Eddie Schneider and Del Rey‘s editorial director/VP, Tricia Narwani. Their hard work and sharp insight helped make MEXICAN GOTHIC the story it is, and we couldn’t be more proud to work with them both.

This is the first time in a quarter of a century that JABberwocky has had a book contending for this honor, and MEXICAN GOTHIC certainly deserves it. Congratulations to Silvia, Tricia, and Eddie!
