JABberwocky Literary Agency is pleased to announce that we have recently welcomed a new author/illustrator client, Evan Sabo.

Evan Sabo is a queer Midwestern cartoonist currently living in Baltimore with their partner and four cats. When they’re not drawing, they love reading up on urban legends and listening to real ghost story podcasts.

Evan is represented by Valentina Sainato, who was instantly charmed by their evocative art style in their spooky graphic novel, SHADOW PLAY. The story follows Claire, a young teenager struggling through daily life after a family tragedy. She finds an old, curious harlequin doll among her mother’s belongings, one that comes to life and consoles her while she sleeps following a fight with her two best friends, Valerie and Elliott. As tensions arise between the group, the doll encourages her worst behaviors and eventually tricks her into switching places with it, allowing a shadow version of Claire to run free. Can Valerie and Elliott save Claire from the mirror world she is trapped in and restore their friendship?

You can find Evan on Bluesky at @suddenlyevan.bsky.social. Welcome, Evan!
