New Hires at JABberwocky

10/26/2021

JABberwocky is charging into its 28th year, on in years but still young enough to have a growth spurt. We’re adding two new people to our team, which includes a brand-new position, and now have eleven people on staff.

Christina Zobel is our new Subsidiary Rights associate. She joins us from Harlequin Books, where she was a Subsidiary Rights and Editorial Assistant, following internships at Simone Garzella Book Scouting, Folio Literary Management, and Anthem Press. Christina will be working under Susan Velazquez, our Director of Subsidiary Rights, on every aspect of our UK, translation and audio subsidiary rights. Christina graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a dual major in English & Honors Creative Writing and Greek & Roman Civilization.

Cassandra Perez joins as a Rights and Royalties Assistant. Freshly graduated from the University of Florida, where she interned at the University Press of Florida, in addition to internships at Brink Literacy Project and Foundry Literary + Media. Cassandra will be reporting to COO Brady McReynolds for royalty processing and accounting support, and to JABberwocky President Joshua Bilmes as our new primary point of contact for all film/TV and other dramatic rights inquiries. This is the first time that JABberwocky has had an employee with dedicated responsibilities for our film/TV rights.

The two join James Farner, who moved from part time to full time status as Agency Assistant, reporting primarily to COO Brady McReynolds, following his graduation in the spring from the New School with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.

We’re excited to add to the agency team as we broaden our reach into new genres and categories, with an increasing number both of New York Times bestselling authors and debut authors on an ever-growing client list.
