August 2008 Joshua was excited to see the first articles on True Blood, the HBO series based on Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, several weeks ahead of the series launch, today he’s going gaga over the June 19 Arts & Leisure section in the NY Times. Here’s your link to an article on Sookie Stackhouse portrayer Anna Paquin that takes up almost two pages including most of the front page. It includes a quote from Charlaine Harris, and the printed version and (at least right now) the web version both include nice repro of the covers of the Ace tie-in editions for Charlaine’s first three Sookie novels. The suite of NY Times on-line coverage also includes this extended interview with Paquin by Times reporter David Itzkoff, and Itzkoff starts out this Alan Ball interview with a question on how closely the show is following Charlaine’s novels. Charlaine will be walking the red carpet Tuesday night June 21, and Season 4 premieres on HBO on Sunday June 26. Show Your True Colors — by buying a Sookie novel.
