Our 2023 Hugo Award Winners

10/23/2023

Huge congratulations are in order for the four JABberwocky clients who are winners of the 2023 Hugo Awards!

Samantha Mills won Best Short Story for “Rabbit Test,” originally published in Uncanny Magazine, November/December 2022. “Rabbit Test” is sweeping this awards season, having also won the Locus, Nebula, and Theodore Sturgeon Awards for Best Short Story earlier this year.

Neil Clarke won Best Editor (Short Form) for his work as Publisher/Editor-In-Chief at the incomparable Clarkesworld Magazine. This is his second year in a row winning this award! Neil is also the editor of the annual Best Science Fiction of the Year anthologies, now in their seventh year.

Uncanny Magazine, run by publishers and editors-in-chief Lynne M. Thomas and Michael Damian Thomas, won Best Semiprozine. This is its seventh year winning in this category; one only needs to see the spectacular work they produce in order to understand why!

This year’s awards were presented on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at a ceremony at Chengdu Worldcon, the 81st World Science Fiction Convention in Chengdu, China. A whopping 1847 votes were counted for the awards this year, which makes us even prouder of our sensational clients. Congratulations Sam, Neil, Lynne, and Michael!
