Pulitzer Winner Heaps Praise on Tobias Buckell

10/4/2012

In case you missed it, this week Wired Magazine sat down with Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times bestselling author Junot Diaz on their Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy podcast. In the interview, when the author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao was asked who some of his favorite contemporary authors are, chief among them was JABberwocky’s own Tobias Buckell:

“Buckell is someone that I started reading immediately because of the stuff he was doing and the way that he was weaving in the Antillean reality into his work. I mean, really, really, great stuff. Listen, you can’t go wrong with somebody who has a group of characters called the Mongoose Men. I’m in.”

We couldn’t agree more! Tobias Buckell has made a habit of collecting enthusiastic praise for his novels; everyone from NPR to io9 has had lovely things to say, CRYSTAL RAIN was a finalist for the RT Award, and RAGAMUFFIN was a Nebula finalist. So head to your local bookstore (or hop online at Amazon | B&N | IndieBound), request a copy of any of the books from his Xenowealth Saga, and don’t forget to tell them that Junot Diaz sent you.
