True Blood – Back for More

7/3/2012

HBO announced on Tuesday that is has renewed True Blood, based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, for a 6th season.  The show continues to be the most-watched on HBO, and is usually atop the 18-49 ratings for summer TV shows even though HBO is in far fewer homes than the TV networks.  We’ll be surprised if there isn’t a 7th season as well, since TV contracts for acting talent usually last that long, after which shows can get more expensive to make as the top actors can go back to the negotiating table, but we’ll see.  True Blood has helped Charlaine Harris achieve global sales of over 30 million copies and a record 9 books at once on the NY Times bestseller lists.  If you haven’t given a whirl to the Sookie Stackhouse novels you can check out the first-in-series Dead Until Dark here.
