Vault’s Barbaric Coming To Netflix

5/18/2026

We’re pleased to announce that Netflix is officially adapting Vault Comics‘ action-packed series, BARBARIC!

Created by Mike Moreci and Nathan Gooden and edited by Adrian Wassel, BARBARIC is a brutal fantasy adventure series described as “Deadpool meets Game of Thrones”, centered on a ruthless and crass barbarian named Owen who is cursed to only use his violence for good. With his talking axe and a young witch, Owen sets off on a road of self-discovery, redemption, and revenge.

Launched in 2021, Vault’s Barbaric series proved to be a massive hit, selling well over 600,000 units, per the publisher. It has been translated into five languages (Spanish, Portuguese [Brazil], French, Polish, and Greek) and launched a spin-off series, Queen of Swords, as well as various one-shots. The series was featured on “best of” lists from Entertainment Weekly, Screen Rant, Thrillfest, Comics Book Case, and more!

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, Netflix announced at their upfronts that it gave the project the green light. The adaptation will be co-showrun and written by Academy Award nominee Sheldon Turner (X-Men: First Class) and Robert Rovner (Supergirl), alongside an incredible producing team spanning comics, film, and television.

We’re so excited to see this fantasy adventure come to life and we can’t wait to binge-watch when it premieres on Netflix!
